I am a 38-year old Finnish family father, returning to the game after an extended break. I plan to play 2-4 times a week, mostly in the evenings, between 20-23 CET.

I was introduced to MMORPGs few years ago, when friends invited me to WoW. A whole new world; I dived into it and eventually grew tired of it. Since then I've played LoTRO every now and then. I like the game but have not really felt home there. With old friends we have a weekly EQ2 session---to socialize, the game itself I don't really care about.

Vanguard, on the other hand, I love: the huge, beautiful open world, the classes, the game mechanics, the crafting--only diplomacy I so far haven't warmed to. I found the game accidentally about a year ago. I joined a static duo with another player on the Isle of Dawn. We had a fantastic journey. Somewhere in 30s we joined Shadows of the Dragon, found new friends, and had great fun in the dungeons. The only thing I missed at the time was crafting, something I've tried to fix with my alts.

So why did I leave then? Soon after reaching 50s, things started to go badly. Problems in the guild, members leaving to another guilds or quitting entirely. We couldn't do much real endgame content. This wonderful game reduced to days and days of grinding gators at SoD. My duo partner quitted. Sony's lack of interest in the game. Randoph the reindeer. Drama in guild. I found I didn't want to play anymore.

But I have missed the game. After 6 months of absence I've resubbed. Issues with Sony are even worse, and the Shadows are no more. Yet: the game is still beautiful. I still want to explore the wonders of Telon, go to dungeons with friends, craft goods for alts and mates.

And this I why I apply to Lux Arcana. I enjoy soloing too, but MMORPGs are social games, and Vanguard in particular is a group game. Moreover, the Lux Arcade principles seem to fit well with me. The only way to really see is trying, though. The stated raid focuse I fear a bit; if invited to raids, I'll feel proud and will try to do my best, but raiding has never been my main focus in any game.

. It is definitely one of those games that you deeply miss once you have left, and so many former players eventually return, which we all think is great. However, as you have already found out, sadly SOE are no longer all that one would wish them to be ( were they ever?) and all guilds are suffering as a result.

Looking at your application I see that you, like many of us in Lux, are an altoholic. In fact I rolled my 16th character a couple of days ago.......half the fun of this game is trying new classes and visiting the many places and dungeons one didn't get around to before.

As for raiding, I wouldn't worry too much as our fellow raiding Alliance guild is on the verge of transfering to Telon, so any raiding we do for the moment will be purely laid-back guild raids.
